Red Bull Music pour Dani Shivers

Du 24 septembre au 28 octobre 2016, la Red Bull Music Academy fait escale à Montréal. Tandis que les événements au programme se déroulent au Centre Phi et à divers endroits à travers Montréal, les 70 participants soigneusement sélectionnés de la cohorte 2016 (dont Dani Shivers) sont invités à prendre part aux prestigieuses conférences de l’Academy. Parmi les concerts auxquels Dani Shivers participe, elle entoure, avec d’autres participants de la RBMA, le pianiste canadien Chilly Gonzales pour le grand concert Chilly Gonzales & The Gonzervatory Masterclass du 26 octobre 2016 où ils reprennent ensemble Dreams Of Death II.
Elle fût auparavant contrainte d’annuler son invitation à l’édition de Paris, suspendue par les attentats terroristes de Paris en Novembre 2015. C'est l’occasion pour elle d’avancer sur son projet de troisième album prévu pour 2018, qui complète une trilogie commencée avec Jinx et Syzygy.
Elle reprend en live à l'émission Métriques Synthétiques de la Red Bull Radio ses morceaux Dreams Of Death II, Niento, Bluebird, The Child, The Hanging, Don't Wanna Go et Sometimes (vidéo plus bas).

There’s a section in Dani Shivers’ record collection dedicated exclusively to witches. But even though the Tijuana-based singer and producer loves the darkness – including horror movies and criminology – her music radiates an almost angelic gleam. Sonically, her closest kin might be the early manifestations of Nite Jewel and Grimes, with pristine songwriting shining through even the thickest layers of fuzz, reverb and synth atmospherics. Dani has been writing since early childhood and it shows – her ear for lyrical hooks and arrangements is just as finely honed as her relationship to ghosts and magic."
Ce qui nous rappelle la Uncover Session de Boiler Room qui s’installait à Tijuana le 11 novembre 2015 pour un showcase avec Dani Shivers, alors qu’elle devait être présente dés le lendemain pour participer à la Red Bull Music Academy de Paris, évènement qui fut annulé pendant les attentats de novembre 2015.
