Heavenly Choir Of Jet Engines
Power EP highly referenced to Ride before being mixed by Mark Gardener for their first upcoming LP, this short format is the direct result of Split 01 and the second format of the group. The cover's visual is taken from a 3 cm x 3 cm vignette, an archive image enlarged 10 times, revealing European architectures and Asian protagonists with sometimes strange attitudes. The title Heavenly Choir Of Jet Engines and the name of the band Dead Horse One evokes images of very loaded sense, the cover avoid a literal illustration.
"The magnitude and coherence of Heavenly Choir Of Jet Engines will be a revelation for any neo-psychedelic fan. Horn from Grenoble but signed to a Le Mans label, Dead Horse One offers, from the introduction of the first piece (Alone), a baroque guitar riff that owes as much to Dead Meadows as Arbouretum. The following, He Goes Down, slows the tempo to the medium, without losing its groove. The voices of Olivier Debard (singer-guitarist) and by Ludovic Naud (singer-bassist) are treated by a mix of fuzz and reverb, responding to the furious choruses of guitars.Pads of acidic synths sometimes appear. The band also knows how to work in a more neatly pop register (Cruel Winter and his introduction to the bass) " - Magic Rpm
